What We Do

For Girls

In collaboration with schools and community organizations, Girls Action Foundation provides programs to girls in Montreal. Our programs create safe, inclusive spaces where girls engage in popular education workshops, discussions, games, and creative activities. Evaluations have shown that Girls Action programs help girls build their self-esteem, critical-thinking and communication skills, and civic engagement.

For Young Women

Girls Action offers leadership training and on-going mentorship programs that support young women under 25 to develop skills, networks, and resources.

Young women can be at the forefront making a better world. Girls Action is building a community of women to share their wisdom and expertise and support young women’s potential as leaders. These innovative programs build community and reach across diverse generations and sectors.

The Girls Action National Network

In addition to working directly with girls and young women, Girls Action coordinates a network of about 200 community organizations across Canada that deliver innovative violence prevention and empowerment programs to girls aged 9 to 18. To serve our network, Girls Action facilitates skill-building forums, organizes girls’ program trainings, coordinates a national Day of Action, and creates regional partnerships with grassroots organizations.
