Colorism is a phenomenon that has a direct impact on the perception that many girls have of themselves, a phenomenon that impacts their self-confidence. This episode features the voices and testimonies of 5 black girls and young womxn, aged 15—23 years old. They talk about the impact that colorism has had on their lives and how they live beyond the barriers and labels that society places on their skin colour.
For those who may not know, Colorism is the prejudice or discrimination based on the shade of an individual's skin tone, typically favoring lighter skin over darker skin tones.
